We headed to Montreal to see our nephew Giancarlo play in a Hockey Tournament this weekend. It was possibly the most exciting hockey game we've seen in a while (we are in Toronto after all). Giancarlo was the coolest guy in the building (certainly more than can be said of an over-excitable Aunt Nelly). Giancarlo was awesome, leading the team with a shutout in the gold medal game to win the tournament. Go Chazy!

You probably don't know - and not by accident - that Converse is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nike. Yes, the Nike of sweatshop infamy (unfairly, since Nike now has some of the best business practices in the industry, but lasting perceptions have power). For consumers who care about such things, it looks like this:

No wonder that the Nike Store doesn't mention Converse and Converse marketing doesn't mention Nike. If people knew that Converse was a division of Nike it wouldn't be as cool.

I have previously been fairly averse to napping, catching 40 winks or having a doze during the day. Nelly, on the other hand has always been a big fan... perhaps it's something to do with her mediterranean background... but she can turn a nap into a whole evenings entertainment. It seems, that I am now beginning to see the light. With what feels like less than 10 hours sleep in the last 7 days napping has taken on a new found attraction. Having a sleep with all the family is a downright productive use of my time. Jeez... we are tired!
